4th MEETING OF FUNDACIÓN BANCO DE ALIMENTOS’ COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

BUENOS AIRES, October 2013 – Molinos Río de la Plata and Fundación Banco de Alimentos carried out the Meeting of Community Organizations N° 4. The event gathers representatives of the 600 soup kitchens that are part of the Foundation and it took place in the Buenos Aires Auditorium, in Recoleta.

Under the motto “Joining Hands” many activities have been carried out; among them a moment of reflection and a brainstorming leaded by the psychologist Miguel Espeche. The aim of this meeting was to share the experiences of every organization in a joyful moment, sharing mate with sweet cookies.

The meeting started with a display of recycling from different social organizations, that showed all of the recycled handicrafts made from paper, wood, plastic, cardboard and plastic bags of milk. Some stands showed how to reuse these elements in order to promote the recycling in every home and institution. Many of these handicrafts were donated to the Foundation and some others were raffled among the attendants.

Simultaneously, the attendants took part in the collective creation of the mural with the presence of the fine artist Bernardita Chempio.  The work was painted live and it was presented at the end of the meeting.

The closing of the event was leaded by Adela Sáenz Cavia, Manager of Institutional Relationships and Communication in Molinos. “Thanks to Fundación Banco de Alimentos I learned the meaning of net working. Everything that happened today was an example of the collective collaboration that is essential to carry out what all of you do day by day”.
